We always thought that Indian cities were notorious for speeding motorists. But think again, there is concrete evidence that Denmark might be the nation of speedsters. The Danish Road Safety Council (DRSC) say that 7 out of 10 Danes regularly drive over the speed limit.
In a bid to draw attention to speed limit signs on the road the DRSC created a new advertising film which appeared more like a news report rather than a film. The advertisement featured young, sexy women holding speed limit signs and standing by the road, topless. Yes the women stood topless in a bid to attract the attention of speeding motorists and make them slow down.
The girls who called themselves as Speedbandits are proud of their role in reducing road rage and deaths due to speeding accidents. But there are downsides to the concept too. At several places traffic jams occured due to motorists stopping on the road to oogle, gawk, stare and photograph the topless speedbreakers.
