A Moroccan newspaper is sued by the interior ministry

The Moroccan Interior ministry decided to sue the daily newspaper Akhbar Al-Yawm and seize it after publishing a caricature about the royal family and using David star on the Moroccan flag. This caricature about the marriage of Prince Moulay Ismail, according to the interior ministry, was a “flagrant violation of the respect of a member of the royal family”.

Besides using the Moroccan flag in an ill-will manner, the caricature was considered as an insult to the motto of the kingdom, so according to the applicable law, it was decided to sue and seize Akhbar Al-Yawm and take all the necessary measures regarding its means and premises.
