Officials say a theme-park ride has collapsed in a city in western Sweden, injuring 40 people.

SOS Alarm spokeswoman Monica Grandin says 20 people were seriously hurt when the Rainbow ride collapsed Tuesday evening at the Liseberg theme park in Goteborg. Grandin says the ride was full when the accident occurred.

The Rainbow is a spinning arm with a seating compartment on one end.
