3 Security Guards Watch As 15-Year-Old Girl Is Savagely Beaten And Robbed

What would you do if you saw a young girl being viciously beaten and kicked in the face by another girl; one of a group of 10 young teens, both male and female who then run off with the victims purse? And what do you think 3 security guards, manning a Seattle metro bus and subway tunnel who witnessed the whole thing should have done? The following video is harrowing, as we watch a young girl being beaten while the security guards stand by and do absolutely nothing.

The girl and a friend had a confrontation with the 10 teens in Macy's in a nearby mall over what she was wearing. They followed her to the subway, and you can see the girl walk up to the guards and point to where the others are following her. Then the attack begins

What is totally unbelievable is that the guards neither helped the victim, nor did they attempt to apprehend the attacker, nor try to retrieve the stolen purse, even after the young girl begged for help. All they did was make a phone call, which obviously was of no help. Witnesses were flabbergasted at what they saw, as was I when I viewed the tape. The excuse for the guards' inaction was that

they're contract workers from Olympic Security Services out of Tukwila. According to their contract, the guards are to "observe and report" problems, not to get involved. Metro Transit General Manager Kevin Desmond says that policy is now out of date.

So you have to wonder, what is the point of having security guards if they provide absolutely no security? What are they being paid for? And even if they are only allowed to observe and report, if you see someone being beaten up, isn't it common decency to come to the aid of that person? Those rules need to change, and the guards need to be fired. Since the original story was aired, there have been some updates, including charges against the attacker and several others.
