26 Sexually exploited Women and Teens rescued in Mexico City hotel Raid
Elements of the Judicial Police sealed the premises of the Palace Hotel, located in Mexico City after the raid in which several women and teens were being held under exploitative conditions.

Authorities of the Attorney General of the Federal District (PGJDF) reported that seals were placed at all entrances to that building, located in Bolivar Street near the junction with Viaduct in Cuauhtémoc.
Thursday elements gathered to submit new evidence to the Special Prosecutor on Sex Crimes for the crime of trafficking persons for sexual exploitation.
At this time it has been reported 26 women, many of them minors, who worked as prostitutes were rescued in the raid. Authorities assume that many of the young women rescued, some of which are part of an organization of sex workers called `For better health', have been coerced and forced against their will, although it is possible, that among them are women responsible for the captivity and exploitation of the others.
In the operation 23 men were also detained, including several hotel employees and managers , who are still under investigation to determine responsibilities.
According to some civil organizations reports, the Palace Hotel as well as other nearby hotels are known to be used by a trafficking and prostitution network, led by a woman nicknamed "The Laura" and her husband`.
One of the main lines of the PGJDF research suggests that there are connections between various networks of traffickers and exploiters who use hotels located in areas of Buenavista, the Center, and La Merced, and whose leaders are reportedly centered in Tlaxcala.
