12-year-old Pakistani Christian Girl Raped and Murdered By Muslim Attorney

POLITICS. .

If you are a Christian in Pakistan you are worth nothing. And the life of a young girl is worth RS 20,000 (approximately $237.00) in hush money. That's the pittance a lawyer offered the parents of a 12-year-old Christian girl, that he raped and murdered , to keep quiet about the incident. Not that he cared, he told the parents that even if they told someone, nothing would happen to him, that “if they shout no body will listen and they will never get any thing.”

And it seems he's right. The police are not interested in filing any charges against Mohammad Naeem, so the family of the victim, Shazia, and Christian rights activists have been protesting the fact that her murderer has not been apprehended, and that the Punjab police seem reluctant to arrest other Muslims guilty of harming Christians.

Till update on this news by PCP, the family members of deceased Shazia are protesting in front of Punjab Abbembly building and demanding arrest of Mohammad Naeem Advocate and other Muslim culprits who are not arrested by Punjab police.

Apparently young Shazia was the sole provider of her family and worked as a maid for Mohammad Naeem, a prominent lawyer of the Lahore High Court, even though he allegedly stopped paying her wages 8 months ago.

According to the Pakistan Christian Post after raping and murdering the child, on January 21, 2010, he dumped her body at her home, obviously thinking they would do nothing considering his position of influence. However, the mother reached out to neighbours who contacted the General Secretary, Forum of Minorities, Khalid Shahzad. This still accomplished nothing and all Naeem has done is intimidate and threaten the family.

He tried to hide this case and also pressurize to her father and media that I am a lawyer and will see who will highlight this issue because the court and the lawyer community is with me.

Last night he came with his relative in Pakistan Army to sort out deal with parents of deceased but when they come to know that the deal will be not successful then a Brigadier of the Pakistan Army who came to rescue Mohammad Naeem left away. The impression was given to poor parents of Shazia that elite class and the Muslim influencial people don’t care about the law and order and they can use the law as they want.

People with power, wealth and influence always seem to believe that they can literally get away with murder, because it often happens. But it doesn't help that the victims are poor and part of a minority that don't deserve justice, and can't get help from the authorities.

It just demonstrates how little a life is worth to those who think they are better than those they abuse.
