Political analysis and understanding a scenario to the point of sanguinity is difficult. It had been difficult for the US to understand whether they have been able to influence the nuclear policies of Iran or not. Hassan Rowhani used to be one of the negotiators of Iranian nuclear policy. As one of the elected candidates for presidency in Iran, Hassan Rowhani is a light of hope for the US at present. He is being highly esteemed for openly criticizing the past nuclear policies and the way related things have been conducted by the previous leaders of Iran.
Rowhani’s political presence in Iran has put the US bureaucrats in doubt. They are not confidant regarding easing the sanctions because they do not know if doing so would make Iran step away from getting nuclear weapons or not. High tension discussions and speculations are going on regarding the same matter. The US officials are talking about the next policies to be used with Iran though they are not permitted to do so.
It is believed that Rowani will be able to change the nuclear policies of Iran for better. According to a US official, the government can rely on Rowhani for making better nuclear policies in near future. But everybody does not think the same way. There is a difference in opinion. Some think that the sanctions should not be taken forward if Iran does not give something substantial to prove their favorable stance in nuclear matters.
Iran has always claimed to have no violent intention for advancing there nuclear capabilities but US is not ready to believe them. The truth is that there is probably not much that vouchsafes in favor of Iran and its nuclear policies. US have tried to lower the amount of crude oil Iran gets to transport abroad. This way they are trying to make it hard for Iran to stay economically self-sufficient.
But even US understand that it will be difficult to force China and India further to decrease their purchase of oil from Iran. The sanctions by US and its allies have weakened the Iranian economy. The question is why Iran has not stepped down from their nuclear power ambitions. It is being said that US needs to take the sanctions further for changing the mind of Iranian politicians. Only time will tell if Rowani is successful in easing the economical crisis of his country or not.
