This saying is true now, since some days ago, when Mumbai (old Bombay) lost the status to Delhi the most live able city in India. It’s not only Delhi or New Delhi but true for the entire NCR which comprises of Gurgaon, Faridabad, Ghaziabad, Noida & Greater Noida etc.
I never felt like ever coming to Delhi to make it home since our Awadhi touch and living always found soothing comforts al Lucknow. However, on retirement from Govt. job from City of Bangalore I had come here and now I don’t wish to leave ever. This is the city where things happen all-round and through out the weeks time.
This happened because of the recent growth in infrastructure and the facilities that grew in last couple of years in around Delhi. Its Metro, flyovers, newly laid wide road, International class Airport and Railway’s facilities, Commonwealth Village Games complex, Akshardham Temple etc. Delhi has not only become investors pride but slowly destined to be the one of the finest example of modern days living. Its night life is all set to see new horizons. Its food both ethnic and international and all types are really loveable. You can always find your love for Sufiana thinking of Nizamuddin the great poet and saint, phool walon ki sair the festival of harmony amongst all communities, Ghalib’s mazar, forestry and greenery well with in the city limits. Precious historical backdrop ranging from medieval period and linkages with stories connected with great epic Mahabharata, Prithavi Raj Chauhan, Pathans, Mughals to British period stands testimony to its great heritage. This city has had its high and low.
Its fashion and bazzars with modernity is a treat to watch. Not to mention would be criminal of its lovely girls and boys both make a distinctive fashion statements and attracts not one time but attention for all the time. The seat of power gives this city a special status. With the seat of power being here one can notice flow of both accounted and unaccounted wealth. The city is well equipped to accept the modernity with semblance of its past glory.
Delhi has its own incomparable charms and historical buildings with mughal architecture, beautiful parks, well laid out Rasthtrapati Bhawan and surrounding buildings, India Gate and Connaught Place provides typical British classic touch.
Trade and industries is flourishing in its vicinity. Today, it can be said that this city provides unending opportunities, which no city in the making can match.
It has charm of old and the new and thus can be called as best show piece of India.
Weather remains extremely good during winter season. However, summer though harsh can still be enjoyed in its own way. What this city lacks is good amount of water bodies and little effort by the Govt. can fulfill this gap if Yamuna River and its surrounding areas are improved. It needs some serious thinking as to how it can improve functions of Airports and Railways during extreme winter season and foggy days. Travelers feel inconveniences’ during this time can not be explained. Also, it needs some improvement in its law and order, which is good as compared to other cities in India, but occasional crime against women, attracts attention of media and brings bad name to Delhi. This city also needs to think of improving current levels of pollution. Despite this city offers most green capital in contrast to any other in the world.
Open hearted welcome to the people from world over has been the hall mark of this great city. It is not divided by South-North or Easy-West cultures. Here every one is free and welcome to pursue its own profession and enjoy. This city offers the best cultures though often people have been heard saying that this city neither has its own culture and influence of migratory people can be seen in its life style similarly its weather is influenced by coolness of Himalaya and hotness by the deserts of Rajasthan.
The Film city in Noida has become hub of the activities of TV and Electronic Media. No wonder one day the Mumbai may loose the status of the city producing world class movies. IT and Communication are flourishing in Gurgaon and Noida like any thing and well poised for all-round growth.
The biggest strength the city has its people and their approach to the people of other places and regions and the openness these enjoy. After all Shahjahan and Ghailb, who made this town their home, so if I and you make this decision coming here and looking for settlement nothing wrong is being done by us. Good times for some days at least since property prices in NCR region have not yet going as compared to other market. This means lots of choices and better negotiating power for the buyers. This really puts ahead this city over others.
