Chilean President Sebastian Pinera Monday announced a housing plan involving 2.543 billion U.S. dollars for families affected by the Feb. 27 earthquake.

The 8.8-magnitude tremor destroyed 81,444 houses, severely damaged 108,914 houses and caused minor.
