The rising population crisis in Germany is quite predicted and women around the nation can actively take part in solving the issue by staying at home as well as having 3-4 kids, according to the Cardinal of German.
79-year old Joachim Meisner, the German Cardinal and the Roman Catholic Archbishop of Cologne, was criticizing the policies and approaches followed by the Government of the German Chancellor Angela Merkel while giving an interview for the newspaper ‘Stuttgarter Zeitung’.
He exclusively targeted the strategy of the government to pull immigrants towards the country for the purpose of work and said that it is one of the reasons which are affecting the populace of the country to a great extent.
The latest population survey conducted in Germany has revealed that the rate of birth is the lowest in the country in the entire Europe. Only 1.36 children are found for each woman around the nation and this figure is going to hit the national population the hardest within next few years. Right now, there are approximately 83 million people in the country. But as per the assumption of experts, it will reduce to almost 70 million by the year 2050 if no significant rise in the birth rate is seen.
German Cardinal attacked the recent policies of the government extensively and said that these policies are trying to improve the declining population of the nation by relying on colonization which is nothing but a true suicidal attempt for the society. This effort is even encouraging women to opt for abortion, he added.
He also disparaged the ‘Mass Apprentice Scheme’ arranged by the German Government for jobless youth of Spain and Portugal. He thinks that the scheme is carrying away the young generation of those two countries which is also hurting the population of the nation itself.
As a solution to this national demographic problem, Meisner suggested German women to stay at the home and focus on bringing up at least 3 to 4 kids religiously.
He said that the family policy adopted by the government in the Eastern region of the country is spoiling the environment which can promote the production of more children and help in eliminating the population issue. To explain the importance of parents in the society, Meisner also compared the family policy of the German Government with that followed by people under the Communist rule.
However, nationwide women have started protesting against the statement of the Cardinal.
