BJP faces political crisis in UP, legislators seek tickets from SP and BSP

Bhartiya Janta Party is facing an interesting situation in Uttar Pradesh. On the basis of the assembly seats BJP is the third largest party in the state. The assembly election is not far and the leaders have become active to get the tickets.

As the Samajwadi Party (SP) and the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) have made its base much stronger than BJP in the state, the leaders of the BJP are seeking nominations from these two parties in the coming elections.

The once top brass state leaders are now in the national politics, there are less numbers of big political figure of BJP those are working in the state.

BJP’s national vice-president Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi accepts the ongoing political crisis in the state but says that it will not affect the party. There are a number of BSP leaders seeking the BJP ticket for assembly elections too.

BSP has already announced its list of over 200 candidates for the 403-member assembly.

The names of about twelve sitting BJP legislators are present in the first list of the BSP. Moreover, almost two dozen more are lobbying hard with the BSP and the Samajwadi Party leadership for the assembly ticket.

According to the party sources, BJP president Rajnath Singh and party chief of Uttar Pradesh Kalyan Singh are looking into the matter in the state.
