Presently, the parliament is in session and ready to debate on the topics of national importance. But, the ‘honorable’ members of the Parliament are showing no interest in attending the session.

On Monday, Speaker Somnath Chatterjee expressed his distress on the low attendance of MPs during Question Hour in Lok Sabha and rebuked the absentee MPs.

Somnath Chatterjee expressed his agony when he found that 21 MPs were absent who were supposed to raise 13 questions during the question hours.

The House skipped nine questions of national importance and the speaker said by showing anguish:

Similarly on last Thursday, nine questions were skipped from the debate because 15 MPs, who had to raise the questions, were not present in the House during question hour.

The speaker reacted on the absence of MPs by saying that this is the cause why people make all kinds of comments against Parliament’s functioning.
